Having worked as a laundry and drycleaning
professional for over 30 years, TP Chan has been appointed
as the Chief Executive Officer of Laundry Network Pte Ltd
since 1 January 2002.
TP Chan graduated with a Bachelor of Science
in Chemistry from the Nanyang University, Singapore, in 1971.
Two years later, he completed a certificate course in Hotel
Management with the Singapore Institute of Management. He
was the first Certified Laundry Manager in the Asia Pacific
region by the National Association of Institutional Laundry
& Linen Management USA (NAILM). In his career, TP Chan contributed
to the success of various laundry and drycleaning operations,
among them being the Goodwood Group of Hotels, Oberoi Imperial
Hotel, Inter-Continental Hotels, Harapan Group of hotels and
The Westin Stamford & Westin Plaza.
One of his great strengths was laundry
systems planning and design. He has provided laundry consultancy
and start-up assistance to The Starwood Hotels & Resorts and
assisted them to set up many laundry plants under the Westin
Brand and the Sheraton Brand in PR China, Thailand, Indonesia,
Vietnam, Malaysia and Australia.
In his previous job as Director of Laundry
& Valet Operations at The Westin Stamford & Westin Plaza for
16 years, he was managing the largest laundry plant under The Starwood Hotels & Resorts. In
1997, T P Chan was honored the Thurston-Dupar Inspirational
Award by The Westin Hotels & Resorts for modeling exemplary
service to the Westin guests, to the Westin Hotels & to the
Westin fellow employees. This award represents the highest
achievement for any Westin associates in their worldwide properties.
At the Westin Stamford & Westin Plaza,
he was regarded as the "Father of Laundry", as he was so committed
to the development of laundry trade and he devoted almost
his entire working life to the laundry industry.
In Laundry Network, TP Chan leads a team
of laundry professionals who each has more than ten years
of specialised experience. They were previously Laundry Managers
from Inter-Continental Hotels, Oberoi Imperial Hotels, Hilton
International, Ritz Carlton, Le Meridien, The Westin Stamford
& Westin Plaza, Marina Mandarin and Oriental Hotel.
With a highly competent team, TP Chan is
